- I listened to this episode way later than it was released, so by the time I reinstalled Zed - which now has a Windows client - it already had all the agentic features included.
- I now prefer using Zed over VS Code, which I keep as a backup for GitHub Copilot and C/Assembly coding, but Zed is my daily driver. I am still getting it setup and adding all of the correct extensions (looking at you
Markdown support)
- The best part about Zed so far has been the first class support for local AI models - I am currently using Ollama to serve multiple models for local chat completions and agentic coding. It is not as good as Claude or GitHub Copilot, but it saves money when the tokens run out.
