This film brings a fresh energy to the franchise with a more diverse cast of characters, particularly Gru’s long-lost twin brother who injects some much-needed unpredictability into the story. The animation is as vibrant and detailed as ever, but the plot feels slightly formulaic, relying on familiar tropes rather than pushing boundaries, making this film inferior to the others. The voice acting remains top-notch, with Steve Carell bringing his signature deadpan charm to Gru’s character.
