This sequel delivers a warm and entertaining holiday comedy that expertly balances humour with heart. The cast, still led by Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, continues to shine in their signature roles, but the film falters slightly when trying to balance its lighthearted tone with some more mature themes. Despite this, the movie’s standout moments make it a worthy addition to the franchise, thanks to the talented ensemble and clever script that never takes itself too seriously (and in some categories is better than the first). Overall, it’s a fun and engaging ride, even if it doesn’t quite reach new heights.
